The European Union is now so desperate to stifle dissent that it has enacted new regulations supporting censorship of unapproved opinions on grounds of "hate speech":

European Union Declares War on Internet Free Speech(external link)

Of course "hateful" speech is a subjective definition, just as what constitutes pornography lies in the eye of the beholder. But this is beside the point of the new rules, which are clearly aimed at censoring dissenting opinions and manufacturing consensus. Unsurprisingly, a number of large internet firms, including Facebook, Microsoft, YouTube, and Twitter, have pledged their cooperation to the effort.

Censorship, unlike speech, is always hateful. So the results here are predictable:

1) No one will comply with a single one of the EU's demands.

2) Content suppression by the internet firms will prove that they are indeed acolytes in service to totalitarianism, and drive away customers and content in general, whether it's liable to get branded as "hateful" or not.

Increasing loss of control of the narrative by the power structure is leading to increasing desperation on the part of the powerful. Their every reaction aimed at reasserting control only reveals more fully the mendacity of power. Which leads to yet more loss of control. Obedience requires consent, and the mechanisms intended to induce that consent are now stimulating rebellion. We are thus witnessing the death throes of the status quo at the hands of this virtuous feedback loop.

It is a thing of great beauty.

Using Internet Privacy Tech

As George Orwell famously commented, telling the truth in an empire of lies is a revolutionary act. To which we can now add: Using privacy tech in an empire of surveillance is also a revolutionary act.

The single best privacy technology, with the greatest ease of use, that you can put to work for you against the empire of surveillance is a Virtual Private Network, or VPN. The next best would be Tor(external link).

But beware: not all VPNs are created equal, and most of the Tor exit nodes are being run by the intel agencies of major nations these days. We know of one VPN company that's offering not one but two excellent VPN packages, which provide just about every benefit that you can derive from a VPN. Anonymous surfing with selectable exit proxies in different countries, a Tor bridge, encrypted audio/video VoIP calls over SIP, secure email, private encrypted storage, and a mixed-routing multi-hop network which rivals Tor for its ability to provide anonymity and deter traffic analysis. Run by experienced people with integrity who know what they're doing.

This company is ElanVPN.net(external link). Presently, they're running a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo(external link).

We highly recommend that you support their campaign by taking out a subscription. Political action is useless at this point, so take the appropriate steps to protect yourself and your friends and family. The revolution against the empire of lies and surveillance is in your hands!

Digital Cash Alliance Promotes the Revolution

The coup 100 years ago which gave control of the global financial system to the 0.1%, through the creation of the US Federal Reserve, has hijacked the past century to build up the state to full-blown Brave New World totalitarianism practically everywhere, foment wars and genocide, crush the middle class, eviscerate human rights, and rig practically every so-called "market" in the global economy. There can be no "reform" of such a system, any more than Rome could have been saved by its reformers circa 460 AD. The only hope is to start fresh to build a new world system to replace it.

The first step in doing this is to reclaim the issuance of money from central banks and governments. You cannot have prosperity at the grass roots as long as you have debt-based money issued and controlled by Highly Organized Crime. It is therefore of primary importance that privately issued money, preferably backed by precious metal, becomes available in the free market. To be effective, this "digital cash" must be anonymous and untraceable, just like physical cash. The slave masters now seek to eliminate physical cash, because even that much of a remnant of freedom is unacceptable in their eyes. The hell with them! We need the privacy of physical cash in the digital realm, and we shall have it.

In fact, we already have it! A new website has been launched to promote this idea of digital cash, and the already existing technology which implements it. It is called the Digital Cash Alliance(external link). They also offer some nice retail products, including premium VPN login credentials and pro-revolution books. We at JoinTheRevolution have agreed to make our inventory of t-shirts available to the Alliance as a premium gift to its Gold and Platinum Ally members.

If you understand the importance of untraceable, free market digital cash, please check out the website. This is not a startup or a paper. This is a deployed technology which already exists! As such, we consider it extremely important and recommend it highly.

Financial institutions, government regulators, and mainstream media mouthpieces are usually quick to decry the risks inherent in free market innovations such as cryptocurrencies and associated trading platforms. Such as dismissing Bitcoin as a Ponzi scheme, for example. But while MtGox episodes do occur in private systems, and it can be hard to know who to trust, at least unregulated private sector operations have the opportunity and potential to earn the trust of the communities they serve.

With state-facing, regulated trading platforms and institutions, there is a presumption of trust that does not have to be earned, but that trust is completely misplaced. Consider for example these recent incidents involving "mainstream," dollar-based actors:

Hedge fund manager fakes death to quell redemptions(external link)

Trading "guru" loses 99% of managed assets(external link)

Bitcoin hacks are always gleefully reported when they occur, but banks are vulnerable too:

Hackers steal $300 million from global banks(external link)

The difference is that banks are backed by taxpayers and money printing, ensuring that the public gets to suffer twice.

There are even blatant scams in plain sight:

Tesla cars fueled by money printing(external link)

As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

Since our last post (more than two years ago!) quite a lot of the world has "joined the revolution" against the neo-fascist imperial regime in Washington. The empire has done better at retaining the complacent loyalties of insouciant fools at home than it has abroad, probably due to its broad control over English-language media. However, in the alternative media one can always find plenty of good material, and an increasing number of the lumpen dingen in the anglosphere are accessing it, which is a good sign. But as for any meaningful change in the near term, that is plainly still highly unlikely.

Consider for example the recent reports about the systematic use of torture at secret prisons across a gulag archipelago based in various foreign countries. After more than four years of legal wrangling, a heavily redacted fraction of the documentation of these atrocities was finally released late last year. The only proper response to documentary proof of war crimes of this extent would be to open a series of "Nuremberg II" trials, in which the people involved, from top to bottom, would all be put on trial for capital offenses. And just as at the original Nuremberg, "I was just following orders" would not be admissible as a defense.

What happened instead? All the guilty parties had their names redacted from the reports, and the imperial political "leaders" ran interference for them; for example Dick Cheney growling that the torturers "deserved decorations, not investigations." Media sock puppets further diverted attention by conducting a discussion as to whether torture was effective; thus avoiding discussion of whether or not it was legal, compatible with international standards for human rights and the rules of warfare, or whether it does in fact bring anyone who systematically employs it down to the level of Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, or North Korea. And since then, of course, the whole torture story has faded from the news.

Nonetheless there are some commentators who "get it" and are not hard to find. Here are links to three such essays, describing where we are at the beginning of 2015 and touching on what is likely to come, as the global revolution against the empire proceeds. The first is an excellent summary by Dr. Ron Paul, in which he describes how we got here and where it is likely to lead in the near term:

Ron Paul: My Predictions for 2015(external link)

The second is from Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, who delivers a good summary of the geopolitical situation, detailing Washington's incredible provocations of Russia over Ukraine, which are clearly intended to press the reset button on the Cold War. (Evidently the Islamic terrorists aren't a sufficiently convincing villain to keep the neocons in power and the money flowing to the military/industrial/financial complex.)

The Outlook for the New Year: Paul Craig Roberts(external link)

Finally, an economic analysis posted by way of ZeroHedge by a blogger named Thad Beversdorf. This fellow's take on the current state of the global economy is informed by his construction of a graph of GDP deflated not by CPI, but by debt. Considering matters from this angle leads to a lot of perfectly true and accurate characterizations of present economic reality:

Empirical Proof of the Giant Con(external link)

That's all for now. Time permitting, this blog will be active again this year.
